It was a great weekend! First I worked the Coca Cola Game Day Tailgate at Auburn with Kristen and Chaundra from Starshine Faces and Annette from Clowns Care. We all painted lots of tiger paws and tigers. We only painted a few Georgia designs. I have no photos from the tailgate party, but the event manager had a camera and was taking snapshots of the different events. I need to do a websearch to see if any of those photos were published. Unfortunately Auburn lost the football game. But by the time the game was over, Annette and I were back in Birmingham.
Then I did the birthday party for the young boy. It was for his 5th birthday, and was a surprise for him. His birthday was actually 5 months ago, but his family moved on his birthday, and they had so many other conflicts with scheduling that it couldn’t be set up until this past Saturday. His birthday theme was Power Rangers, but none of the kids at the party asked to be one of the Power Rangers. But I had looked up the Power Rangers to see how the masks were shaped. Instead I did a fun fish face, a couple of wolves, a couple of clowns, a couple of dogs, and a swirly flowers design, and a couple of temporary tattoos on the adults. The pictures are still on my camera, so I’ll get them downloaded soon and post one or two.
Sunday morning I got up at 4AM and drove to Atlanta for Jackie Green’s class. It was so worth it. Jackie is a great and caring teacher, and very matter of fact about what we do. We create art, and should never apologise for it. I have several pages of notes, and we worked on some techniques as well. I hated to leave and not stay for the second half of the class on Monday, but work at home was calling me. So I left Atlanta at 9PM (central time) and drove home with a beautiful design on my face that Jackie painted. Pictures of some of the faces will be posted soon!
It’s now later and I’ve had a chance to download a few photos. Here are a couple of pics from the birthday party! The wolf:

Then from the class on Sunday: Jackie’s lovely mask on me:
And the group going out to get a bite to eat:
As you can see, it was a fun loving group there.
